| The Ballad of Liberty Written By Chuck Hansen * * * * * * * * Upon the floor the sad dog lay, The time to die one day away. People she'd loved all had hurt her, Finally to just desert her. A little puppy, black and white, Condemned to die tomorrow night. But caring hearts were there to see, That such a fate just would not be. An angel came into her cage, To save her from this last outrage. The angel lay still as could be, And waited oh so patiently. Frightened Spots had tried to hide, From the one who'd come inside. But now the dog had come to see, Who this person just might be. The angel took her from her crate, To die today was not her fate. So to the park they took the pup, To see if they could cheer her up. A foster mother took her in, That day her new life did begin. My "Doodles" died a month before, I found this dog I would adore. I took her home and here she'll stay, To brighten up my every day. Every creature on this Earth, Deserves a chance to prove their worth. And for this dog it was to be, And then they named her Liberty. |
