HOW GOD MADE DACHSHUNDS

God made a little Dachsie
To brighten up our day.
He took a bit of sunshine
Laughter, love, and play.
And rolled it up in a sausage shape
Just right for a hug,
With bright eyes full of mischief
Set in its little mug.

With little paws a pattering,
To take it here and there,
And a cold wet nose, but then He thought,
"Oh, what about the hair?

Shall I make it long and silky,
Or wiry, that's so sweet,
Or make it simple, and have it smooth
And satiny and neat?

And what about the color?
How can I pick just one?
Shall it be black, or red, or brown
Or dappled, just for fun?"

He pondered while He made the world,
And all creatures great and small
And then the answer came to Him
"OF COURSE! I'll make them ALL!!"

So remember that a Dachshund
Is special, from above -
His coat of many colors
Is a sign of God's great Love.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MAX THE FIRST
BORN 1/27/04 - DIED 3/15/04

MAX DIED FROM THE DEADLY DISEASE, PARVO, BEFORE
HE COULD JOIN OUR FAMILY.  HIS MEMORY WILL LIVE
ON THROUGH HIS BROTHER, MAX-A-MILLION.
MAX AND AMBER'S STORY

Max and Amber have just started their
new lives with us.  At the time this story
was written, they had only been with us a
few days.

Max is a stocky little guy.  At only 9
weeks of age, he weighs in at just over 3
pounds.  Max has one blue eye and one
brown eye, which makes him unique.  His
chocolate and tan dappling really stands
out giving him a look all his own.

Max really enjoys roughhousing with the
boys. He and Rusty have become good
friends and enjoy a good wrestling match.
He acts very different when playing with
his sister, Amber.  Amber can knock him
over with one push.  He'll just lay on his
back and kick his feet in the air while she
chews on his ears.  I do believe he is a real
gentleman when he allows his sister to play
"fight" games with him and come out the
winner.

Amber is a very tiny little girl.  She
weighs 1 ½ pounds at 9 weeks of age.
Amber is a Parvo survivor.  She became ill
shortly after her other 2 brothers died,
but managed to beat the odds and recover
completely.  She may be pint-sized but she
is very feisty.  When she makes demands,
she expects her needs to be attended to
immediately, if not before.

I am looking forward to spending many
happy years with Max and Amber,
watching them grow up and encounter many
new experiences along the way.  I will be
tucking away memories that will stay
within my heart forever.

New pictures will be added to Max and
Amber's page on a regular basis as they
mature.  I would like to invite you to check
back often.
