Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas. It's so hard to believe that "All the Dogs in My Life" will be celebrating its 8th birthday online during 2011. I want to thank all of you who have followed us since we first went online and also a special thank you to all of our new visitors. This page will provide updates on "All the Dogs in My Life" as well as introduce you to a lot of fun links to the many blogs that the dogs throughout the world are writing when their humans aren't looking. So far I've been successful in keeping my dogs off my computer but I really don't think that'll be the case much longer. So 2011 just may be the year that "All the Dogs in My Life" will enter the world of blogging. Look out world.....here we come! |
Here's a little video to get you back into the holiday mood. BEFORE YOU START THE VIDEO, GO UP TO THE TOP OF THIS PAGE AND LOCATE THE MUSIC BAR IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER. TURN OFF THE WEBSITE MUSIC AND ENJOY THE VIDEO. YOU CAN THEN GO BACK AND RE-START THE WEBSITE MUSIC * * * * Enjoy! (It may take a couple minutes to load before you start it) |
OK...NOW WE'LL MOVE ON TO THE LATEST UPDATES (Each name will include a link back to his/her original story) |
Reno is now the oldest of the group at the age of 15 1/2. He has become quite senile over the last couple of months and seems to get lost in a corner quite often. He will walk miles in one evening just by circling the family room over and over. But the good news is that he's very happy and quite healthy for his age. He still enjoys a good ball game and will compete with Bailey for access to a tennis ball. |
Benji is now 14 1/2 years old. He is very laid back and always happy. He seems to have taken over the job of looking out for Reno. When Reno is down in the family room doing his "circles" I have, on many occasions, watched as Benji would go down and get Reno's attention and then lead him back up the stairs. |
Bailey is a 12-year-old Jack Russell Terror (Whoops....Terrier). From her level of activity, one would never guess her age. She is known as the "Treat Thief" in all corners of the world. And a very sneaky thief she is. She will watch from a distance as one of her pack members enjoys a nice treat and then (very innocently I might add) race by at full speed and grab the treat from the unsuspecting victim. Bailey also enjoys swimming and diving for her ball. |
Holly and Sarah are two of the daughters belonging to Bailey, mentioned above. They just celebrated their 10th birthday in late October. Unlike their mother, Holly and Sarah just prefer a nice long nap on the sofa as opposed to a ballgame. In the picture above, I had groomed Sarah not five minutes before taking the picture. I've come to the conclusion that Sarah is a hopeless case as far as my attempts to keep her from looking like the "Shaggy Dog". Perhaps a nice short haircut will be my only option. |
April will be turning 10 years old on April 18. A couple of years ago she suffered from severe intestinal problems and had to have almost eight inches of her intestines removed. At the same time she was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Fortunately over time this condition has cleared up and she no longer shows signs of any digestive problems. April is also Epileptic but has been seizure-free for over a year. She is taking medication for Epilepsy. April is very happy and care-free and loves everyone. |
Tucker and Rusty are Jack Russell littermates who were rescued as puppies from terrible living conditions. They will turn 9 years old this summer. Their young lives are only distant memories for them now as they seem to have put the past aside and thoroughly enjoy living for the present. Tucker has a few health problems but the symptoms are such that the vet can't nail them down to a specific disease so for now we're just watching for more symptoms to help with a diagnosis. Rusty loves playing with anything he can find to play with, hence the nickname "Trouble". He especially loves his squeaky toys and, even more, swimming. He can stay in our swimming pool for more than 30 minutes at a time just doing laps back and forth. It's quite amazing to watch this guy swim. |
Amber and Max are littermates who will turn 7 years old on January 27. By looking at them, one would never guess that they were brother and sister. Amber is very, very tiny and petite and Max is one spike short of being a football player. He towers over his little 8 pound sister with his massive 18 pounds. He isn't really fat....just large-boned and full of muscles. They have always remained very close as a brother and sister should be. They prefer playing with each other rather than joining in the games that the others play. Together they make quite a team! |
Last but not least, we have Jennie, who recently turned 6 years old. Jennie is also Bailey's daughter with the same father as Sarah and Holly, making them full-blooded sisters. Jennie enjoys being outdoors when there is something she can bark at. Otherwise, she is much like Sarah and Holly and prefers a nice nap on the sofa or on someone's bed. Occasionaly she will go swimming with Rusty and her mother. |
AMBER'S TYPICAL WEEKEND MORNING (BOY DOES THIS GIRL LIKE TO SLEEP) |
And the time is: |
On almost any Saturday or Sunday morning |
First we have this |
And then maybe this |
Yuck...Where is my mouthwash? |
Ok, maybe I can scoot back under the covers and no one will know |
Oh, all right....one foot out from under my blankie |
Mom..that wasn't very nice! |
Gotta do a little bit of rollin' to get the old juices flowing |
Ok now.......what's for breakfast????? |
Tucker fell victim to a very bizarre accident a couple of months ago. He was standing at the water bowl drinking water and his brother, Rusty, came up next to him. Rusty happened to have his mouth open with a big yawn when Tucker picked up his head from the water. One of Rusty's teeth from his opened mouth hit Tucker in the eye. Tucker had quite a hole in his right eye that required veterinary care and eyedrops for 2 weeks. He wasn't able to open his eye for 1 week. All is back to normal now. |
TIME FOR A LITTLE BIT OF CANDID CAMERA!! |
YIKES!!!!!! April needs a good trim but I'll wait until the weather stays warmer for a longer period of time. |
Rusty has formed a very close bond with our 3-year-old grandson, Nolan. Whenever Nolan comes to visit, Rusty is always as close as he can get to him. |
As Mentioned at the Beginning of This Page, I will now turn this over to Amber |
